Unfortunately, there are many families on MS Gulf Coast who are unable to receive adequate services for their children due to lack of insurance, insurance that is not accepted across the coast, and/or the inability to pay privately for therapy or educational services. That's where LEAPS comes in!
We have a team of advocates who actively seek funding for services and resources for those families who are unable to receive them otherwise.
Grants and monetary donations are used in several ways:
1. Cover the salaries of service providers (includes therapists, teachers, advocates and staff for Sensory Saturdays in the sensory gym),
2. Purchase therapy and educational materials such as electronic devices, sensory equipment, learning materials, etc. to use in a therapy or educational setting, at home and/or at school,
3. Pay co-pays for parents who have eligible insurance, but are unable to cover co-pay cost
4. Cover operational cost of the sensory gym in order for parents to have a cost-effective, sensory- safe resource for children to play
5. Purchase resources and informational materials to promote awareness and advocacy for children with learning differences.
Donations of equipment or supplies are used for:
1. Enhance the therapeutic/educational experience for our students,
2. Provide more opportunities for sensory intergration, social skills training, individual development, etc.,
3. Provide resources to parents and students to use at home and/or at school. All materials go directly the benefit each family receiving services
**Every donation leads to an opportunity for a child on a waitlist to start services and take one step closer to success!
