Behavioral Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors, such as communication, social skills, reading and other academic skills.  Adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality and job competence are also addressed.  Each child has an intensive individualized program which is designed based on an initial assessment process and directly monitored by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  The program is implemented by Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) under the supervision of the BCBA.  Each child has a formal evaluation every 6 months but one of the features of ABA therapy is daily progress monitoring.  This allows for adaptations to the plan as it's being implemented and provides greater efficiency in the learning process.

We view our therapy as a collaborative effort between our expert service providers and the family.  We will partner with you to create the best possible environment to promote meaningful learning opportunities and experiences for your child.  Together will be develop a treatment plan and targets your child's specific needs and goals.  Our primary objective is progress!

Therapy Plans

A typical plan would consist of 20 or more therapy hours weekly and would involve discreet-trials teaching, natural environment teaching, incidental teaching, and other therapy models that are delivered by highly trained staff.  We base much of what we do around the Promoting the Emergency of Advanced Knowledge language training system, better known as PEAK.  PEAK is one of the most researched programs available with an abundance of clinical studies having been published.  One of the unique elements is that is addresses a child's understanding of how things relate to one another based on the child's learning history.  This allows us to target the skills that underlie complex cognition, reasoning, and problem solving in a way that other programs do not address.

Our Team

Our therapists participate in continuing education so that the services and interventions we offer continue to be the most up to date innovations and to insure that we are applying these in our clinic.  This evidence based approach along with clinical progress monitoring allows us to deliver services based on our client and family's values and goals so that the children we serve can reach their maximum potential efficiently and effectively.

Registered Behavior Technicians

Gulf Coast Education Solutions is committed to seeking out the most passionate, qualified individuals to bring your family the best possible services.  Our BCBAs are responsible for training and supervising Registered Behavior Technicians as they implement behavioral treatement plans.   We currently have 9 RBTs working under our team of BCBAs.  These RBTS have completed their national certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and most are working on higher levels of education (Bachelors or Masters degrees).  We have three RBTs currently enrolled in an Applied Behavior Analysis program at various universities.  Each plans to obtain their BCBA and continue serving our Gulf Coast community!
